If you were asked if you would like to expand your DVD collection by downloading and burring free movies what would you say? If your like most people the answer would be yes.
There are a great many web sites that claim to offer free movie downloads these days but which ones are actually free and which ones really work? Most of the sites that offer free movie downloads are P2P (Peer to Peer) file sharing sites. People upload their movies, and other files, which allows other people to download them. There are 3 major problems with P2P sites and they are this ...
1 - The main problem with this system is it is illegal. The practice of downloading movies off the Internet is a violation of copyrights unless the site you download the file from has the rights to sell it. Always check the terms and conditions before downloading any free file off the Internet or you may end up with a pirated copy of the movie you want.
2 - Another major problem with free download sites is they tend to be very slow and incomplete. The files you will find on these sites are most often not of good quality and will cause the movie to have a bad picture and lousy sound. Sites that offer free movie downloads are often flooded with visitor that are trying to download the same poor quality files which causes the sites to be very slow and often crash. You end up with poor quality and only half the movie.
3 - When you agree to download a movie from a P2P file share system you are opening up your computer to the site providing the file. By doing this you never really know what you may be downloading. Your computer can get infected with spybots or viruses so you better be sure about the site you are allowing your computer to access.
There is an alternate source of movie downloads on the Internet and that is of course payed download sites. Sites that you pay a membership fee for are safer, faster, and you will get the good quality full length movie that you wanted. Many of these sites will allow you access to there file database for a very reasonable price or one time subscription. You should find a download site with a good reputation and reviews. With a paid membership you will save money as the costs are much less than trying to build your collection by purchasing DVD's from a video store one movie at a time.
